Three-string Galax lick The "Galax lick" is a useful little trick, common in bluegrass and oldtime banjo, but also found many other places, even in classical music sometimes.In it's simplest form it looks like this:

The pharse example is based on three-finger picking, but the Galax lick itself can also be played two-fingered (pipp) or frailed (iipp - all downstrokes).
