Here's a table with the most common (and a couple of not so common) types of banjo.

| Banjeaurine | 5 | 53.5-56 cm (21-22") | Fifth string shorter than the others. Extended fingerboard. Not very common nowadays, this instrument usually took the part of the violin in the banjo orchestras.. |
| Pony banjo | 5 | 50-58.5 cm (20-23") ? | Fifth string shorter than the others. Aka Lady's banjo. Gold Tone calls a banjo of this size a "mini banjo." Often tuned in C, a fourth higher than the regular five-stringer. |
